Ukraine steps closer to WTO entry

The European Union yesterday paved the way for Ukraine to join the World Trade Organisation, a move which will admit a highly productive agricultural and steel economy and give Kiev power to delay Russia’s entry to the global club.

At the request of the parties in the dispute “United States — Continued Existence and Application of Zeroing Methodology” (DS350), the Panel has agreed to start its meeting with the parties on 29 January 2008 with a session open to public viewing at the WTO Headquarters in Geneva.

You know it probably that grades on Gov Procurement and WTO in Public International Law and Domestic Legal Systems have been published.

We have only two grades and MT to go!

YouGov and The Lawyer have conducted the biggest survey of the legal profession that has ever been undertaken, and 51 per cent of respondents selected associate retention as one of the biggest issues facing the legal profession today. Even 30 per cent of in-house counsel see it as an important issue.

The issue has dominated the agenda for law firms since The Lawyer revealed in October 2005 that Allen & Overy had an assistant attrition rate of 25 per cent – news that prompted an overhaul of the firm’s partnership track.
