Ukraine intends to accede to WTO by 2007's close

This was disclosed by the Prime Minister's advisor Ihor Mitiukov, heading a plenary sitting of the Ukrainian investment summit in London, UK.

Mr Mitiukov noted that the negotiations process with the WTO member-states is almost completed. We see no handicaps in this view, he said. According to him, the Verkhovna Rada has to pass some bills in this view. Answering questions by journalists on terms of accedence to the WTO of Russia and Ukraine, he urged not to liken the processes as economies of both countries are different. Both countries should run a coordinated policy in the tariff sector, Mr Mitiukov stressed.
