Позиция Кыргызстана по вступлению Украины в ВТО может быть проигнорирована секретариатом международной организации

Кыргызстану передан меморандум о готовности Украины оказать нам гуманитарную и техническую помощь в обмен на подписание двустороннего протокола в рамках вступления Украины во Всемирную торговую организацию. Как сообщают украинские СМИ, об этом заявил министр экономики Украины Анатолий Кинах.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych and President of Kirghizia Kurmanbek Bakiev discuss prospects of bilateral protocol on access to commodity and service markets necessary for completing the process of Ukraine’s accedence to WTO by telephone, according to the government’s press-office.

Kirghizstan remains the only member state of the Working Group on Ukraine’s accedence to WTO which has so far not signed a bilateral protocol with Kyiv.

This was disclosed by the Prime Minister's advisor Ihor Mitiukov, heading a plenary sitting of the Ukrainian investment summit in London, UK.

Bishkek is hosting a three-day seminar on experience and membership perspectives in the World Trade Organization today.

Kyrgyz Ministry of Economic Development and Trade with the help of Islamic Development Bank (IDB) organized the event. Professionals from the ministry, IDB employees, and representatives from Iran, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Azerbaijan are taking part in the seminar.

One of the striking features of the WTO in its first decade of existence is its remarkable ability to attract attention from NGOs. According to WTO’s definition, any entity other than a government is a non-governmental organisation. This means that WTO considers organisations representing business interest and those representing public interest at par. It’s true business interest often receives more attention as far as international trade is concerned.

«Украина вступит во Всемирную торговую организацию, несмотря на конфликт с Кыргызстаном», - заявил вчера, 30 января, в городе Львове премьер-министр Украины Виктор Янукович, сообщает агентство ИТАР-ТАСС.

It is well known that Russia has been putting enourmous economical pressure on Georgia, in particular it has been using its powerful energy sector to pursue its political aims. Now it is up to Georgia to put Russia in not comortable situation - this time Russia's destiny on the road to WTO accession is in the hands of Tbilisi.
