hi all,
i've been asked if every MILE student can vote only once. the answer is positive - everyone can vote only once. and everyone is totaly free in choosing his/her candidate, even can vote for him or herself. the poll will be closed in one week from today or anytime before that if the result become obvious like someone gets absolute majority of votes.
hi again,
as an initiator of this poll i continue to get different advices to my private message box, via telephone or e-mail (it would be much better if you all could just login and express your opinions here as the comments). so one of the reasonable advice was to announce about second tour to be held after we have two or three main candidates. let us see what happens tomorrow, but i believe we already have aziz and manolo as the two majors. and probably if nobody minds we will run second tour so that everyone could decide between only two (or three) candidates. please everyone comment on this.
p.s. i had to take my name out of the list, since first of all i don't want to be a rep, second of all i am an administrator of the website so from ethical point of view i couldn't take part in and then let me just do my job and create nice atmosphere here for all you, guys and girls.
Voting campaign!
Dear milemates,
since the official voting has already started I wanted just to remind you my plans towards improving our conditions at WTI that I would like to make on your behalf:
1. Lobbying of our lecturers for a reasonable amount of reading materials so that we can have our weekends for other social activities like shopping, hiking, football etc.
2. Some nights out together with WTI staff (this is a normal thing to do as long as WTI staff have time on the days we want them to go out with)
3. Now on some more hints obtained from previous MILE students about how to do well.
4. Finally, constant publication of all lectures.
I hope for your support but you are the one to make the decision.
Your vote should be given only the one who deserves it.
Alllesss buttalllaaaa!
Aziz
Good evening everybody,
since somebody has already taken the opportunity to suggest himself for the position, I would like to contribute to the political process by making a suggestion myself.
I believe that the basic skills that are necessary to fulfil the functions of a course representative effectively are essentially of communicative nature. I also think that a certain degree of maturity is probably helpful as well.
(I hate to say it but....
I do think that Manolo does own the necessary skills and holds the necessary characteristics. I would therefore like to suggest him to be the course representative - without offence to any other potential candidates.
Have a good night!
David
Dear All,
Sorry for reading emails late and am so regret not joining the party! Coz I
just got back from Geneva. For the voting campain, I agree with Aziz's
suggestion that we need two class cepresentatives, one of whom, I suggest,
is a vice one. I think the vice Class Representative (CR) should be
responsible for the CR and to support the CR. Furtherly, may I suggest that
we should provide one position of the two CRs for a female Milemate so that
she could represent our girls' interests when organizing the social
activities?
Jenny
I thought the period of campaign ended when the election stations opened,
Aziz. Just kidding, the ideas are good.
Remeber that after this vote, the 4 people with the highest votes will go to
a second and final round. So these votes are more to choose the 4 candidates
that will fight each other in a series of public debates for the honor of
being YOUR representaive in MILE.
Vive le Democracy!
Dear Manolo,
Thanks for your construction explanation of the process,
just wanted to clarify that we should have two class representatives so that more issues of general interest were addressed to the attention of our administration.
Also, I do support your idea about public open debates for getting our democratic right to be voted.
My slogan is: Let's have a fruitful and interesting study together as one family where everybody supports each other.
Aziz
What happened with the elections? We can't vote anymore???...I was trying to vote but couldn't!
Sorry, it is my fault, that did not leave any comment in this thread about second tour already has begun. So this one has been closed. Please everybody proceed to http://milestudents.com/node/153
